With all the excitement of
corrosion-inhibiting products finding their way into coin albums, album
slip covers, coin holders and selected coin storage boxes, now there's a
way to protect your valuable coin collection no matter what type of
storage container you use.
Use it to protect brilliant and toned
coins. Works with all metals. Metal SAFE block deposits an invisible
protective molecular film on all metallic surfaces, and
provides
protection for 33 cubic feet of enclosure space (a 2 foot radius) for
one full year. Each capsule last five years if unused, and kept sealed
in its original polybag.
The result of 4 decades of research in
vapor phase inhibition (VPI) technology. Unique, invisible corrosion
protection. The patented VCI formulation (U.S. Pat. No. 3,836,077), in
combination with a ruggedly designed package, makes METAL SAFE Vapor
Capsules a remarkably practical solution to protection of metallic
surfaces and meets or exceeds the requirements of Federal Test Method
Standard 101B, Method 4031 for evaluation the corrosion inhibition’s
ability of VPI materials.
HOW IT WORKS
METAL SAFE Vapor Capsules contain
a unique vapor phase inhibitor. When the capsule is removed from its
sealed polyethylene bag, it begins to emit an invisible, odorless,
nontoxic vapor which is diffused throughout the surrounding atmosphere
until the air is saturated. The vapor then passivates the metal
surfaces against atmospheric corrosion by reducing the electrochemical
activity of the metal surfaces. While this product will inhibit toning,
it will not reverse any toning that the coin previously exhibited prior
to use.
