Statehood Quarter
Program Extended into 2009!
This program was initially conceived to celebrate statehood for each of
the 50 states. Through a special act of legislation, it will now
celebrate the District of Columbia and territories as well. In
2009, quarters will be produced for the District of Columbia,
Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, America Samoa, Virgin Islands and the
Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands.
The 50 State Quarters ™ Program is 'changing' the 'state' of coin
collecting. Approximately every 10 weeks, from 1999 to 2008, there will be a new
state quarter to collect. Each quarter's reverse will celebrate one of the 50
states with a design honoring its unique history, traditions, and symbols. The
quarters are released in the same order that the states joined the union.
Collect them, spend them, or just plain look at them…change is exciting!
Prices and availability subject to change
due to market conditions. Prices have increased on many of the
earlier-year issues. Continued appreciation is likely as the program
beings to wind down and supplies of uncirculated specimens begin to become
limited.
These coins continue to be a popular
favorite among both the beginning and the experienced collector. Each
